From Billions to None is a key element in Project Passenger Pigeon (P3), an international alliance of over 300 institutions. The project is mobilizing the efforts of educators, conservationists, scientists, artists, musicians, photographers, filmmakers, among others.
This ambitious P3 effort is aimed at raising awareness of the passenger pigeon extinction centenary and critical contemporary species extinction issues. Among the activities, in addition to the From Billions to None film and project website, is a new book; K-12 curricula; numerous museum and cultural displays and exhibits; outreach programs and engaging presentations including many that rely on the visual and performing arts.
Over 300 Participating Institutions in North America
One of the early leading institutions has been the Chicago Academy of Sciences and its Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum. A current listing of all of the museums, universities and other institutions now allied in Project Passenger Pigeon, as well as information on all aspects of the P3 program, is being updated continually on the Project Passenger Pigeon website at:
